12 MAY 2020 - Changes to CICBA Timetable

  • Voting to be extended until 27 November 2020

In response to the ongoing closure of Channel Island schools, the CICBA has decided to extend the voting deadline until Friday 27 November 2020.

This extension will give Channel Island children more opportunity to engage with the award and gain greater access to the shortlisted titles and take part in discussions and reading groups.

25 FEBRUARY 2020 - Shortlist announced for CICBA

The hunt is on for the Channel Islands’ favourite children’s book of the last year, as the shortlist for the Channel Island Children’s Book Award is announced.

A joint initiative between Guernsey’s Guille-Allès Library and the Jersey Public Library, the Award – supported by Ravenscroft – celebrates excellence in children’s writing and was created to help children develop a love of reading for pleasure. All Channel Island children aged 9-12 were invited to nominate their favourite book published in 2019, with a panel of librarian judges whittling the nominations down into a final shortlist.
